Padel Inn Radcliffe

Padel Rules

Play Smart. Play Fast. Play Fair.

The Arena

Padel is played inside a glass-walled court that’s 10m wide and 20m long, split by a net in the middle. The walls are part of the game — just like in squash — so rebounds are fair play.

Court Zones

  • Service boxes (two on each side)

  • Back and side glass walls for rebounds

  • Entry doors (used for dynamic play in tournaments)

Serving Rules

for all formats

  • Start behind the service line.

  • Ball must bounce once before you hit it.

  • Must be underhand and below waist height.

  • Serve diagonally into the opposite service box.

  • If the ball clips the net but lands in the right box = let serve (redo).

Scoring the Battle

Same system as tennis:

Love – 15 – 30 – 40 – Deuce – Advantage – Game

Match Format:

  • Best of 3 sets

  • First to 6 games per set (must win by 2)

Tiebreaks:

  • At 6–6, a 7-point tiebreak decides the set.

Penalties

Boundaries and Fouls

Out of Play:

  • Ball hits the wall before touching the ground.

  • Ball hits ceiling or outside structure.

  • Double bounce.

  • Ball hits you or your teammate.

Fair Play:

  • Don’t smash directly into the wall.
  • Keep serves clean.
  • Call faults honestly — padel’s spirit is about fun and respect.
